Spring 2017 Toiletry Drive for Veterans

We have committed to the Atlanta VA Medical Center to provide 200 filled Care Bags in May 2017. And we need your help! Please help us honor our Veterans by participating in Operation Care. We will be conducting a Toiletry Drive April 12 – May 12, 2017.

Why did we choose this for our Spring project? Like our unsheltered homeless living on the streets, our Veterans are also an overlooked and too often forgotten about community and hold a special place in the hearts of us at The Bridge of Compassion Foundation.

There are approximately 22 million living Veterans of the U.S. armed forces per the most recent census. 1.4 million live below the poverty line.

12% of Georgia’s homeless population are veterans, which is salient when only 7% of Georgia’s overall population are veterans.

The Bridge of Compassion Foundation reached out to the Atlanta VA Medical Center, as well as local Homeless Veterans Projects outside Metro Atlanta, to ask how best we could serve this community.

In a conventional hospital, personal care and hygiene items are provided but are added to the patient’s final bill. Due to the structure and funding going directly to the medical care of patients, the majority of VA medical facilities (if not all) rely on volunteer organizations donations of toiletries and personal care items.

We will be accepting these TRAVEL SIZE items for both male and female patient:

Shampoo
Conditioner
Lotion
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Body Wash
Bar Soap
Shaving Cream

***Due to specific restrictions and current needs we are only able to accept the above items and preferably in travel size.

We currently have 3 Drop-Off Location partners across the Atlanta area listed below.

Want to help but don’t have time to purchase or collect toiletries? You can make a monetary donation through our PayPal Giving link. There is no deduction of fees, 100% of your donation will come directly to The Bridge of Compassion Foundation.

Whichever way you decide to participate, THANK YOU for your support!!!
